When Tainui Group Holdings (TGH), the commercial entity of Waikato-Tainui, decided it was time to transform its ability to oversee a $1.7 billion portfolio of diverse assets, ranging from farmland and commercial properties to industrial developments, they embarked on a partnership with Fusion5 and YAVICA.

And while neither technology company had worked with the other before, it was a master class in partnership.

The people, the people, the people

For TGH, managing assets goes beyond business. The group is passionate about supporting the tribe’s future and empowering community well-being.

To enable its mission, TGH moved from SAP to an end-to-end property management package that combines Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (in partnership with Fusion5) with YAVICA’s FlexProperty solution.

He Tāngata, He Tāngata, He Tāngata – the people, the people, the people. That’s what this is about to make the lives of tribal members better.

Jane Nicklin, Change Manager, TGH

The perfect property management solution

FlexProperty enables organisations like TGH to keep pace with their evolving needs – from streamlining property management to improving reporting.

As FlexProperty is embedded in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, it provides a single platform for the entire real estate value chain, offering functionality to enable tenant engagement and self-service, procurement, portfolio optimisation, settlement, and much more.

Since its founding in 2017, YAVICA has grown into a global real estate software company, delivering specialised solutions within Microsoft Dynamics 365. Customers include Melbourne Airport, G City Europe, and Britomart (Cooper & Co).

Fusion5 is an award-winning, leading Microsoft partner in Australia and New Zealand, with significant on-the-ground resources. Its Microsoft customer portfolio alone includes local and international businesses and organisations including Ricoh, AFL, Century Yuasa, and Steel and Tube.

Time zone travel

The TGH implementation required coordination across multiple time zones - a setup that could have posed challenges, but instead became an advantage thanks to the strong collaboration between Fusion5, YAVICA and TGH.

The fact that we were often in different time zones worked in our favour. We could identify an issue in the afternoon, and it would be resolved by the next morning.

Clayton Edge, Project Manager, TGH

A perfect partnership

For Fusion5, the strategic and working partnership offered no issues.

Amanda Lowe, Fusion5’s General Manager Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations, and Mads Pihl Sørensen, YAVICA’s CEO, quickly aligned their respective companies’ project expectations and established how they would work together. Lowe was exceptionally impressed with YAVICA.

They were a delight to work with. From pre-sales to go-live, our companies were perfectly aligned in approach and performance. When it came to milestones, YAVICA flew in key team members, but we worked remotely for much of the project – with their team attending meetings in the middle of the night (their time) as needed. Their commitment and professionalism were impressive – and the people lovely.

Amanda Lowe, GM Microsoft Dynamics F&O, Fusion5

From the start, we felt a strong alignment with Fusion5, both in values and in how we approach projects. Their expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and commitment to delivering outcomes made it easy to build trust and momentum. Together, we were able to support TGH in a transformation that goes beyond systems - it’s about empowering the future of their community through technology.

Mads Pihl Sørensen, CEO, YAVICA

A collaborative success

Together, Fusion5 and YAVICA delivered a system that allowed TGH to successfully evolve alongside their assets and community-focused initiatives. For TGH, the partnership with Fusion5 and YAVICA reflects its commitment to responsible, sustainable growth.

Jane Nicklin from TGH summed up the value of the collaboration across Fusion5, YAVICA, and Tainui Group Holdings:

Great outcomes start with great conversations.

Let's talk.
